He has participated in different Afro-Venezuelan cultural tendencies and in a variety of performances, workshops and international festivals in Italy , Holland , England , Cuba , Barbados , New York , Canada and Puerto Rico . His numerous didactical meetings have helped him develop his performance techniques and professional maturity.

He is one of the most demanded percussionists nationally and internationally. Sergio "Gato" spent two years playing with "El Sonero del Mundo" Oscar D' León who stimulated him in his professional career, this also gave him the opportunity to play with artists like Celia Cruz, José Alberto "El Canario", Pete "Conde" Rodríguez, Albita from Cuba, Cheo Feliciano, Andy Montañez, María Rivas, Ziggy Marley among others. He has contributed a great variety of professional services to different music groups, recording studios, workshops, didactical clinics, interacting with different styles of music (rock, pop, jazz, latin, symphonic, etc.)
